2023 High School Soccer Tournament Rules
LAWS OF THE GAME
The tournament will be played according to F.I.F.A. rules unless otherwise stated.
PLAYERS EQUIPMENT
The home team will be responsible for providing an alternate colour of shirt, if the colours of the shirts are similar. The home team is responsible for providing the game ball.
GAMES
Games will be 40 minutes straight time. (If 15 teams in the tournament then all teams will play 4 – 30 minute straight time games)
FAILURE TO SHOW
A team will be allowed a 10 minute waiting period from the schedules kick-off time to field the minimum number of 7 players needed to start the game.
Failure to produce the minimum number of players would result in a 3-0 loss by default or a default win as stated below.
POINTS - QUALIFYING ROUNDS
Each Win 3 Points
Each Tie 1 Point
EXTRA TIME
There will be no extra time in the group rounds. If tied at the end of an elimination game, the game will go straight to penalty shots. Five shooters from each team, sudden death if necessary

SUBSTITUTIONS
Substitutions are unlimited but teams can only substitute when:
A) A goal is scored by either team
B) At any goal kick
C) On your own team’s throw in. Based on Referee discretion (other team may then substitute)
D) Through injury at the referees discretion
E) At the beginning of the second half
DISCIPLINE
Standard penalties for player misconduct will apply in all Tournaments and Tournament Discipline Rules must comply with this requirement. See Table 1.
The Tournament Discipline Committee will use Discipline by Review (and Discipline by Hearing where necessary or requested

COACHES
Coaches must remain within their technical areas. Coaching outside this area will not be permitted. Team officials are reminded that they are not allowed on the field without the referee's permission.
Coaches will be responsible for the behavior of their spectators and any request by a tournament official or referee for a parent or spectator to leave a field of play may result in the forfeiting of that team’s game.
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to cancel in part or totally to alter in any way the program outlined in the tournament schedule. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to decide on all matters pertaining to the tournament and the tournaments' understanding of the rules is final.
